“Christ has set us free to live a free life. So take your stand! Never again let anyone put a harness of slavery on you.” (Galatians 5:1)
“You see, we are not like the many hucksters who preach for personal profit. We preach the word of God with sincerity and with Christ’s authority, knowing that God is watching us.” (2 Corinthians 2:17)
“Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of His body, the church.” (Ephesians 4:15)
“Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him, and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving. Beware lest anyone rob you through philosophy and vain deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the elements of the world, and not according to Christ.” (Colossians 2:6-8)
Real life, real freedom, functional faith, foundational Gospel, and uncompromising truth without the religion! TruthForFree represents optimism for what true biblical Christianity can mean for those that have eyes to see and ears to hear – despite what stereotypical, institutional churchianity most often presents in contrast.
Hi friends! Dave here from TruthForFree. I hope you enjoy your visit. Indeed this is my heart; to share the truth in love that God has also encouraged me (and so many others) with so that we may all grow more like Jesus who is the only Head of His body, which is the Church. Not “a church”, but the one and only Church of the Lord Jesus Christ!
Interesting thing about this word “church” we all tend to use… The original language of Scripture uses the word “Ecclesia”, meaning “a called out assembly”, referring to all of those who have been called out of darkness into His light and truth. This is a far different understanding of “church” than so many of us have been led to consider. It is an assembly that is established in heaven and gathered unto by the call of one Master, Jesus Christ. This is a fellowship that knows no boundaries and no walls. It is not contained by institutions, divided by denominations, held in buildings, or managed by professionals. It is the Lord’s own family! The English word “church” appeared in translations hundreds of years after the apostles had all died and was not actually used by Jesus or any of His apostles with respect to any aspect of Christian life. That tends to come as a radical revelation for some and it strikes to challenge just about everything most people know of as “church” when they really dig into the Scriptures and discover that our modern concept of “church” just isn’t there.
Once a person begins to catch on to this revelation, the traditional word we are all so familiar with (i.e. “church”) just seems inadequate (to say the least). Unfortunately, the word is so ingrained in the way Believers talk about the Christian life that we aren’t likely to see the use of it eliminated anytime soon. I’m not sure how important it is that we worry about that too much, so long as we are allowing the Lord to open up our understanding to what His Ecclesia is really all about. Call it whatever term you will, even “Church” if you must, but let’s at least look honestly to the Scriptures and embrace what is written. Man’s traditional opinions and legalistic concepts will NOT suffice. Religion cannot substitute.
Many of the articles on this site still use the familiar term of “Church” with respect to the Lord’s body and the Family of God. My own language is transitioning on this, but since many of the older articles I’ve written or shared (which are written by other authors) still use the term, I simply desire that readers consider this important truth that the “Church” is NOT a building or a program or a pattern or an institution of religion. It is the Lord’s own Family; the Body of Christ. It is represented by every one that has answered His call out of darkness into His marvelous light.
I am so thankful that God sent us His son to free us from sin and draw us into a right relationship with the Father; one that is unfettered by any legalistic action or process of man. It’s so great to know that all those whom the Son of God has set free are really FREE INDEED!!!

I truly hope you enjoy the content provided here and find it encouraging and thought-provoking. I started this site waaay back in 1995 when I was just learning to code websites and never dreamed it would grow to the point where so many people visit and write. Currently I’m receiving somewhere between 20-80 e-mails a day (not to mention blog comments to sort through now) and sometimes it can be really hard to keep up. Please know that I read every e-mail but sometimes it’s hard to find time to respond right away. I apologize if you have written and have not received a response yet. If you’ve written a comment in the blog and haven’t seen it post, please contact me directly through the Contact page on this site to let me know about it. Sometimes legitimate comments are incorrectly marked as SPAM but once I approve your comment, all future comments will post without hesitation.
The content in articles, e-books and blog posts available on this website are presented freely for those who have ears to hear. TruthForFree.com does not represent any organization or denomination and is not supported by (nor was it created to support) any institutional church or religious system (and we’re not one of those post-modern “churches for those who aren’t into church” either). Our understanding of “Church”, as the Bible presents it, is that Church simply represents those who have been called into God’s family through (the Gospel of) Jesus Christ. That’s it! This is a spiritual reality that has nothing to do with whether or not people choose to attend religious services or affiliate themselves with various denominations. The purpose of this website is to encourage people with the truth that a relationship with God is not only possible, but freely available to all who reach out to Him and believe that Jesus died as the sacrifice for sin, was buried and then rose again from the dead (granting all who believe new life in Him).
In Christ there are no obligations to join, install or attend institutional churches (not even “house churches”), clubs, programs, denominations, follow gurus, change your diet, wear special underwear, confess to a priest, go door to door, pay money to some organization, or submit to legalistic regiments or religious rituals. God’s arms are open to all who will embrace Him and, as they enter into a real relationship with Him, He alone will speak to their heart and direct their path. We believe that one of the ways He does this is through the wisdom of Scripture (contained in the Bible). This website seeks to encourage people with regard for Bible truths, which we also hold to be trustworthy, reliable and inspired by God Himself. As people walk this path of true relationship with God, we believe that – in time – He will divinely connect them with others who are walking that same path and thus encourage genuine friendship, fellowship and family-like spiritual unity among them. These are not things that we believe we should be anxious about, but trust completely to God to construct in His timing and according to His divine purpose.
